----MINISTRY BELIEFS----
|
The Deity of Jesus Christ We believe that the Scriptures teaches the deity of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God (I John 1:18; Luke 2:25-32) and was born of a virgin birth of a human mother (Luke 1:31, 34-35). The Holy Trinity God the Father: We believe that God the Father is the first person of the Trinity; the God Head and that He is almighty, merciful, and just. He is holy, righteous, and true. He is eternally existent and glorious in nature. He possesses the attributes of being omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence, and immutable. In agreement with His divine office, He loves, chastises, provides, protects and cares for and over His creations in a fatherly fashion. God the Father draws one to Christ (John 6:44). God the Son: We believe that God the Son-Jesus the Christ, is the second person of the Trinity; the God Head. Jesus, being the Son of God, is almighty, merciful, and just. He is holy, righteous, and true. He is eternally existent and glorious in nature. Jesus possesses the attributes of being omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence, and immutable. God the Father, through the Holy Spirit, is the divine father of Jesus Christ, and Mary the Virgin, in her sexual innocence is His human mother. Jesus, in harmony with His divine office, mediates, seeks, and saves, thus intercedes on behalf of man-kind's redemption. God the Son makes free (John 8:36). God the Holy Spirit: We believe that God the Holy Spirit is the third person in the Trinity; the God Head and that He is almighty, merciful, and just. He is holy, righteous, and true. He is eternally existent and glorious in nature. He possesses the attributes of being omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence, and immutable. The Holy Spirit restrains the world, the flesh and the devil. He witnesses to the Truth, convicts the lost, extols the Christ, and testifies to the righteous judgments of God; that He, in harmony with His divine office, comforts, teaches, testifies, preaches, guides; regenerates, empowers, sanctifies, and anoints, thus exercising the quickening role in the works of saving the lost and the supervising role in the life of the saved. The Holy Spirit is not an "it". Scripture defines the Holy Spirit as being "He" (Acts 8:14-16). Thus, one can grieve the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30); lie to the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:1-11); resist the Holy Spirit (Acts 7:51-53) & blaspheme the Holy Spirit (Mark 12:31-32). God the Holy Spirit seals until the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30). Tithing We believe that the Scriptures teaches that we bring our tithe to the storehouse of God and that this should be done on the first day of the week (I Corinthians 16:1-2; Leviticus 27:30; Malachi 3:10; Matthew 23:23; Hebrews 7:2, 4). The Scriptures We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired by God Himself (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:19-21). The True God We believe the Scriptures teach that there is one, and only one, living and true God, an infinite, intelligent Spirit, whose Name is unpronounceable and is called Jehovah and the Almighty Everlasting God by man. He is the Maker and Supreme Ruler of the heavens and the earth (John 4:24; Psalm 83:18; Heb. 3:4; Romans 1:20; Jeremiah 10:10; Exodus. 15:11). The Fall of Man We believe that man was created in holiness, under the law of his Maker; but by voluntary transgression fell from the holy and happy state of God (Genesis 3:1-6; Romans 5:12-19). The Way of Salvation We believe that salvation of sinners is wholly of the Grace of God; through the Mediatorial Offices of the Son of God -- Jesus the Christ (Acts 15:11; John 3:16; Romans 3:21-26; Ephesians 2:5). Justification We believe that the great Gospel blessing which Christ secures to such as believe in Him in justification; that justification includes the pardon of sin, and the promise of eternal life on principles of righteousness (Romans 3:24-26; Romans 4:23-25; I John 2:12; Romans 5:1-2; Romans 5:3; Romans 5:11; I Corinthians 1:30-31; Matthew 6:33; I Timothy 4:8). The Freeness of Salvation We believe the Scriptures teach that the blessing of salvation are made free to all by the Gospel (Romans 5:18-19; John 8:36; Romans 6:18, 20). Regeneration We believe that in order to be saved, sinners must be regenerated, or born again (John 3:3; II Corinthians 5:17; Romans 6:23). Repentance and Faith We believe that repentance and faith are sacred duties, and also inseparable graces, produced in our souls by the regeneration Spirit of God (Philippians 1:6; John 10:28-29). God's Purpose of Grace We believe that Grace is the eternal purpose of God, according to which graciously regenerates, sanctifies and saves sinners (Ephesians 2:8). Sanctification We believe that Sanctification is the process by which, according to the will of God, we are made partakers of his holiness (II Corinthians 7:1; I Thessalonians 4:3-4; Romans 8:5). Perseverance of the Saints We believe that such only are the real believers who endure to the end; that their persevering attachment to Christ is the grand mark which distinguishes them from superficial professors; those that follow God with the mouths and honor God with their tongues but their hearts are so far away from God (Ephesians 6:18; II Timothy 2:10; Mark 13:13). The Law and the Gospel We believe that the Law of God is the eternal and unchangeable rule of his moral government; that it is holy, just, and good. The Gospel Church We believe that a visible church of Christ is a congregation of baptized believers of Christ (Ephesians 1:22-23; Acts 2:41-42). Baptism and The Lord's Supper We believe that Christian Baptism is the immersion in water of a believer into the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost (Matthew 3:16; Matthew 28:18-19). We believe that the Lord's Supper is a provision of bead and the fruit of the vine. It was instituted on the last night before the Savior's death. It is a representation of his broken body and shed blood. Only baptized believers may partake of the Lord's Supper, for the purpose of celebrating and remembering the death, suffering and undying love of Christ (II Corinthians 11:23-29). The Christian Sabbath We believe that the first day of the week is the Lord's Day or the Christian Sabbath (Matthew 28:1; II Corinthians 16:2). Civil Government We believe that the civil government is of divine appointment, for the interest of good order of human society. Satan We believe in the personality and presence of Satan, in that he is the unholy demonic god of this world and the author of all the powers of confusion, darkness, destruction, evil and wickedness and is destined to receive God's judgment of an eternal justice, damned to the lake of fire (II Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 20:10; John 8:44; Revelation 20:2). The Righteous and the Wicked We believe that there is a radical and essential difference between the righteous and the wicked (Psalm 11:5-7; Proverbs 10:25; Proverbs 21:12; I Thessalonians 4:15-17). The World to Come We believe that the end of the world is approaching; that at the last day, Jesus Christ will descend from heaven, and raise the dead from the grave for final retribution; that a separation will then take place; that the wicked will be judged to endless punishment, and the righteous to endless joy; and that this judgment will resolve forever the final state of mankind, both in heaven and in hell. (Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 21:27). |
